Give Bush some smarts!
This is a cool game, which is deceptively hard to play, but worth working at as the reward is to get to hear some Bushisms straight from the Bush's mouth! (And if you fail, you are as stupid as him!)

A working Sunday today. I got home from one shift at 8:30am and I'm just about to pack my bag for another long one. 5 hours, sleep in, 14 hours, sleep in, home. Stressful. Can't wait til next week which is going to be more normal. Still got my cold, but it is fading. Today, walked KTK and Specks on the dunes and relaxed around the house. Posting to the forum and watching the Grand Prix. Exciting end. But my laziness is coming to a close so I shall go.

Mowing the Lawn

Or cutting the grass. This was what I did this afternoon, as a) I was actually home and not at work, b)the sun was amazingly out and c)the grass was high as an elephant's arse. Well, a baby elephant anyway. A midget baby elephant with growth problems, but even so. It needed to be done. I'm not sure it has helped my cold at all. It is hopefully at its height, last night it was pretty rough. The day before I was on a highly exciting course (called Manual Handling) and kept having to blow my nose, which isn't too good in front of a bunch of people I don't know too well! Back to work again tomorrow, which sucks. Could have done with a couple of days off but the course saw to that. After this couple of weeks of hell is over I am taking it easy and not doing any over time. I can't believe it is nearly June. At least the weather is starting to come to terms with it!

In the news: Bush might have to use his veto over stem cells. BBC NEWS | World | Americas | US House backs stem cell funding The amazing thing is that some Republicans have voted in favour. Anyway, enough politics!

Jill! Here is some non-political stuff!

I have a cold, and I am not happy about it.. My legs ache, my throat is very sore and uncomfortable, I am starting to sniffle, and my ears are blocked. Plus I feel like shite. SO that doesn't bode well for my 14 hour work day, followed by sleep-in, does it? No. My only hope is to be able to buy enough medications to sink the titanic (of colds) before or during work.

Today, after an horrible night of sleep (see above) I woke to find a thick misty fog outside, and I have to ask myself, where the bloomin nora is spring gone? i.e. sun, gentle breezes and light happy showers! Some people say it is going to be a heatwave this summer (after a wet spring) but I have not read anyone official agree with that. Anyway, I don't want a heatwave, just a reasonable spell of dry sunshine! Not much to ask is it?

Finally, an old but funny joke:

Why do girls wear make-up and perfume?

Because they're ugly and they smell.

Cracks me up every time!!

The Ageless Project

Just found a great way of finding new blogs to read. It is clear, easy to use, has a lot of members and is called the ageless project. I am going to join it and it may encourage me to write my blog more often!

Today's entry: I have done my last shift at the unit I have been working at for the last month and a half. Can't say I have any regrets about requesting a transfer to another unit, but still leaving there is a bit bittersweet. Still, it is the best thing for me; it is such a mess there, the support is non-existent and progress is coming along too slowly.
Oh well, at least it is Sunday again and I have all day off now. Lunch with the parentals and a slobby evening in front of the telly.

Oh, by the way, I just worked out how to put the "since May 6th" bit by the counter right at the bottom of the screen! That makes me happy!

Good morning,
It is a beautiful Sunday morning, fairly sunny outside and relaxed within.
After an unprecedented lie in until 9:30 I have been playing on the computer.
Later I shall be travelling down for lunch at the parentals.
I don't work until tomorrow, so that was a 2 day weekend. First for a long while.
Very enjoyable. Soon it will be time for a lazy Sunday morning bath...
Can't wait!

Whoa!
BBC NEWS | Election 2005 | Results | Falmouth & Camborne
Pretty amazing victory. No longer do we have to look at Candy Atherton. The Liberal Democrats have done stunningly in the South West (and across the country). Sure, Tony Blair and the Labourites are still in charge, with a reduced majority at least, but thank life the Tories aren't in power. That would have been an evil nightmare to wake up to.
I stayed up to 1:15am watching the results come in, but I had to go to sleep or I would not be able to function today. Even so, waking at 7 means I probably won't!
Anyway, in brief: Labour has had its nose bloodied over Iraq, The Conservatives are sliming their way back into contention (however quite slowly- like a slug) and the Lib Dems are rapidly becoming a real force in Parliament, and a power in the South West.

A good blog I actually want to read when I have more time!
Shouting at the Void
Really, I just want to have a blog on 05/05/05
What a once-in-a-century date (although if you think about it they all are!)
Anyway, that's it.
